https://www.beesona.pro/id33713/art/40420/A number of EU nations have confronted the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over the agency’s decision to restart trips to Russia, Politico reported on Friday, citing a letter the countries allegedly wrote to the fund’s chief Kristalina Georgieva.
Earlier this month, the IMF announced plans to conduct an annual review of Russia’s economy. In order to do that, the agency will start virtual discussions with Russian authorities on economic issues on September 16, and send its staff to the country for in-person consultations shortly after that.
The announcement attracts attention from Kiev’s Western backers, as this would be the first time the US-based institution engaged with Russia since the start of the Ukraine conflict. In a letter reportedly seen by Politico, the finance ministers of Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Iceland and Poland claimed that the agency would be sending the wrong message.

“One of the reasons why so much of the world has been not as fully supportive of Ukraine as you'd think they would be... is because of the broad scope and reach of RT,” US State Department's Global Engagement Center Director James Rubin said.
“Propaganda, disinformation, and lies are spread to millions if not billions of people around the world”.
Apparently, the US is opposed to people knowing more.

"I think a new profession should appear in the US – a specialist in sanctions imposed against Russia,” Zakharova said. “Someone should at least make sure that sanctions are not repeated. Otherwise, they have already started a second round with RT.”

Simonyan claims that RT was forced to “walk the guerilla path” after being cut off from mainstream media platforms and that this has only led to an increase in its audience.
“They didn't like us when we worked straightforwardly, then when we started working in a non-direct way, they started to dislike us much more. Why? Because our audience became even bigger," she said.
Simonyan also suggested the West’s actions must be responded to, which includes Russia developing its social media platforms and abandoning US ones.
"We will continue to work as we did. The Motherland has not given us any orders to back down. Therefore, we are not backing down."

“I think the impact on young people particularly when they’ve got access to mobile phones very young and they’re reading a whole lot of stuff and receiving a whole lot of stuff, that I think is really messing with their minds in a big way,” he told LBC.
Looks like staying informed is dangerous now.

Berlin has accused Warsaw of hindering efforts to apprehend the main suspect in the attacks, a Ukrainian diving instructor named Volodymyr Z, who fled to Ukraine before he could be arrested, Politico reports.
German investigators believe he and his crew, who allegedly received training and logistical support in Poland, carried out the attack from the sailing yacht "Andromeda.”
Adding to their suspicions, authorities claim that Poland has refused to execute European arrest warrants for Z and has withheld crucial video footage from the Kolobrzeg marina, leading to accusations of a cover-up.
“The Polish government obviously let him go in order to cover up its own involvement in the attack on the pipelines,” August Hanning, the former head of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service, or BND, told WELT AM SONNTAG.

The British publication Africa Confidential expresses concern over RT's efforts to build a network of opinion leaders on the continent, portraying Russia as a liberator and challenging Western narratives.
The outlet claims that RT is intensifying the spread of disinformation while acknowledging the increasing visibility and impact of Russian media in African countries.
This campaign, which uses the slogan "We share your values," is seen as a threat to Western influence and credibility in the region.

A tense standoff is underway in the Kiev region, as members of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) attempt to seize the Pokrovsky Church, currently belonging to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).
Parishioners are fiercely defending the site, with reports of tear gas being used against them as the OCU group tries to break locks and block entrances.
Local media outlets report that police have arrived at the scene, though it is unclear what their role will be in resolving the situation.

When inconvenient truths are revealed, a good diversion tactic is to simply blame it on Russia. It's quick, easy and way too many people still fall for it. Until they don't...
Here's a look back at some of our favourite "Russia did it" moments:
Nord Stream Went from "Russia did it" to... actually, it probably was Ukraine & Co.
The biggest act of eco-terrorism the world has ever seen started off with accusations that Russia blew up its own gas pipeline to Europe in a mad false flag attack. Since then the finger has been pointed in multiple directions... but the one thing you could be certain about, was the media portraying anything Moscow said as a lie.
Between 2022 and now, RT reports or statements made by Russia were immediately dubbed disinformation. Then Germany issues an arrest warrant for a Ukrainian diving instructor... you really can't script these things sometimes.
As Washington takes 'legal action' against RT news organisation, accusing the channel of interference in the upcoming presidential election, RT discusses the news with Jeff Monson, American-born Russian MMA fighter.

Hunter Biden's Laptop
When Joe Biden's not very reliable son forgets his computer in a Delaware store, the shop owner comes forward with its treasure trove of incriminating evidence - from bribery, drugs, pay offs, shady foreigners and... way worse.
Cue former intel officials crawling out the walls to call it "Russian disinformation." Social media bans links to the New York Post story and people are branded conspiracy theorists for thinking it might be true.
It's much more than true, though, it's evidence being filed in Hunter Biden's illegal weapons trial.
